NUSSP established the first-ever community health clinic/centre in Acholinyek village providing affordable medical services. We have successfully treated over 1500 outpatients in the first five months of operation. On average, six to seven patients walk into our facility each day seeking treatment for a variety of problems.
Located in a hard-to-reach and underserved location, we are committed to providing high quality, culturally competent healthcare services led by our compassionate Nursing Officer. Our clinic is the first medical centre members of the community encounter. Some walk up to 10 km and across rivers to access our services. We have established disease management, including infectious diseases, malaria, hepatitis, HIV/AIDS counselling and testing, bacterial infection and typhoid, parental care, and nutrition screenings. Our Nursing Officer makes referrals for advanced care.
Goals and objectives of our community clinic
Educating the communities on the benefits of preventative care and healthy behaviours to facilitate life changing.
Enhancing subsidized prices of drugs to enable the poor and vulnerable community members to afford medications.
Providing essential services such as screenings, social support, and counselling.
To address disparities by ensuring equitable access to health resources.
